zyprexa

Posted in Group:

Hello , i am new to this site . I was diagnosed with bipolar and personality disorder about 5 years ago i have been on about every med possible . I am now on topamax , clonazapam and just started zyprexa yesterday . I hear horror stories about people gaining so much weight on zyprexa . I am already a diabetic but i control it with diet alone and i lost a ton of weight because of my diabetes and the topamax so i hope i dont gain it with the zyprexa. I see my doctor on friday so i will talk to him about it then . So far no side effects on the drug . But then again i am only on 5 mg . Hope everyone here is having a good day .

Eh, being inflicted with depression 9/10 times of the year and finding release in comfort food, I think we have enough worries when it comes to weight management. Personally, even without meds the drive to eat for some kind of pleasure just becomes numbing. (I almost made a pun about numing there) so yeah, I have a weight problem which does seem to be going anywhere what with exercise being nearly impossible. Elevated heart rate triggers a panic attack... but still supposedly Tai Chi is very calming and yet very good exercise so it may help in the whole weight gain, mood stabilizer field. Check it out if you like.

Just don't bother doing free weights unless you know your stuff, cardio is better honestly. I think I'm getting off track. Anyway, welcome!

I took Zyprexa for 4 years and it MADE me type 2 diabetic.Zyprexa would be my last choice now and my doctor says's he won't prescribe it to patients unless they are in acute psychosis.

If you decide to go off zyprexa do so gradually as it causes severe insomnia.

Best regards,Daniel Haszard Zyprexa victim activist my blog now is zyprexa-victims (dot) com
