Hi, my name is Dee and I have bipolar disorder 1. Which mean I have crazy blackout highs followed by depression. Without medication, I mean.

I am sort of new, I think it's been about a month now that I joined. Sometimes hearing others troubles helps with your own. I like the support group.

Welcome!

love,
Dee

Nice to meet you Dee!! I have bipolar mixed, which means I cycle rapidly, but mostly stay on the low end a lot. I've been stable now for a few years thanks to my pdoc and the (finally) right combo of meds. I am glad to meet you because I have found that my greatest support comes from people who share bipolar also. I look forward to getting to know you!!!

May you find Peace and Love...xxx

I'm new also, just joined today. hoping this will be an additional form of support.

I am mostly isolated from my family and recently divorced, a single mom, just laid off and returning to school. I spend a lot of time alone and Facebook is not what I need to help me cope even though I like being in touch with my old school pals and childhood friends.

No one really knows about my diagnoses outside of my ex-husband and children. I just recently let a close friend in on my diagnoses, and to my pleasant surprise, they were very accepting and supportive.

I'm like leslieu I have bipolar mixed. I'm not sure if I'm on the right meds or not, but I'm working on it. I hope we both find the support we need here.

I am bi-sexual, I guess. I have only been with one woman (I'm 58!). I wondered most of my sexual life if I might be happier with a woman... And then, I was; for about 10 years. We are currently separated. I need people to talk to. Bipolar disorder is in my family and I think I may have a rapid cycle although i never have gotten really major manic. Been depressed more and less most of my life. So I can relate to all of those issues too. New here. HI!

Hello.
Please call me X if you like, I was diagnosed with Manic Depression when I was a child and then when I hit teenage years, Bi Polarism type 1, ADD, Dyslexia, and Acute Panic Disorder. I have lived my twenty eight years without medication. I've been in a few group therapy sessions, without success, and a singular therapy session for panic disorder that helped marginally. Most of my treatment has been self researched and applied. I hope to try a true 'support group' with people who are actually bi polar and can relate. I am attempting to start small in this way to see if such things are truly worth exploring further. I hope to help and be helped by many of you. Thank you.

We can provide as much help as any words can. Knowledge, information, this is what tools we have... with them we can share lifetimes, with them we change hearts, with them we can shape or past and future for ourselves. Don't disregard the magic of words. Nor their power, after all, it is in words we think- it is in words we define ourselves. Granted language is a trap, and an illusion, but what stories we may share contain knowledge and strength in knowing and understanding.

I suppose it is all we have, but words have helped me, perhaps it can help others.

Hi all,
I'm new today too. Joined to be supported and to support others. I have bipolar and was diagnosed in 1984. Many hospitlizations and abused alcohol while taking meds. In the beginning I suffered a lot of depression joined AA in 2000 and have remained sober as of this writing, In more recent years I have been hospital free for 20 years. When I got sober I thought my episodes and hospitalization were over. From September to end of November I was hospitalized 3 times for Mania. They changed some of my meds mainly switched to seroquil. I have become stabilized In the last 3 weeks I lokk forward to sharing and become acquainted with my peers.
