moving

finally moving. got approved for my section 8 thursday. So now finding apartments that fit my needs and budget. So very excited. What I can't figure out is why can't i get motivated to start getting my packing of the things i don't need out right now? I don't get it. my deadline to move is the 2nd week of april. Since I am happy bout the move shouldn't i be excited bout the preperations of said move? any ideas as to why or how to find that motivation?

Wrapped - it's like anything else: we may be excited, but we're scared at the same time. It's a change, and change makes us nervous. It's difficult for us to take those steps into the unknown. The task of packing can also be pretty overwhelming; there are boxes to get, paper for wrapping delicate items, labeling boxes, what stays, what goes, what gets thrown away . . . It is a lot to think about. So, try breaking it down into smaller bites: start in one room - pack the things that are not used every day. Move to the next room, and do the same. Knick-knacks can be paced away; wall decor can be packed away. Seasonal clothes can be packed. Keep it simple, keep it organized, and you'll be done before you know it. Good luck with the move! I'm sure it will be better financially, so try to be positive about your new adventure!
