Anyone taking Lithium with Lamictal?
I was on both, it does take a little while for the Lamictal to take effect. Sad to say Memory loss is something that comes with it, I've been off Lamictal for a while and still have Memory loss so I'm not sure what has been causing it.
Lamictal was a good drug for me just be careful with it, you need to take it everyday. If you miss a day it has very scary side effects and it's one of the worst ones to come off of.
ADHD Bipolar lamictal 400 mg yes. Dont skip a day , Memory problems although could be my Add, who knows for sure. I cope. open to share.
I have been diagnoised with bipolar, and still trying to cope with just having this mental disease. My .husband moved out 8 weeks ago and is threating divorce. We have been married for 10 yrs, and I'm feeling abandon and alone. I hate having this and I feel very low especially when I'm called phsyco. It hurts, I feel worthless. And scared. I need some sort of support system, cause my husband has choosen for me to go get ( fixed) then prove to him I have.
I took Lithium and Lamictal for 6 years. Those drugs are fucked! I stopped them cold turkey all at once. 900 mgs Lithium 250 Lamictal. The withdrawal from the Lamictal had the most noticeable side effect. Two words. Brain zapped. Lamictal and Lithium at once was hell! I'm not telling you not to take them both, but I've experienced 1st hand fucked up side effects like the ones you've mentioned...
FIRST ITS REALLY IMPORTANT IF YOUR TAKING BRAND NAME LAMICTAL OR THE GENERIC LAMOTRIGINE.I DID SOOO MUCH BETTER ON LAMICITAL ,WITH THE GENERIC VERISION I GOT HEADACHES AT A VERY LOW DOSE WHICH IS ODD.CURRENTLY ON LITHIUM NOW DEFINATELY HAVE THE TREMORS ,METALIC TASTE IN MY MOUTH AND OTHER SIDE EFFECTS ,JUST HAD TO COME WAY DOWN ON DOSAGE CAUSE OF THE BRAIN FOG. I have a good friend who is going through the same thing- the transition was tough at times because her body had to adjust to the new drug. Be mindful of any rashes or symptoms that are not normal for your body. Make sure you have your doctor's number with you and feel able to call as needed if you are concerned about anything. It has so far been okay for her, but it took some time for her body...she contacts her doctor as needed and he always calls back that day. Ask your doctor if he/she can be reached when you have concerns and how they will take to get back to you. Its good to have this resource available.
Warmly,
Kellie Montgomery, LMFT
